Ameris Bancorp announced that its Board of Directors approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.10 per common share, payable October 11, 2016, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on September 30, 2016.  This reflects a doubling of the prior dividend of $0.05 per common share paid in recent quarters.

Commenting on the Company’s quarterly dividend, Edwin W. Hortman, Jr., the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “We finished the second quarter of 2016 with capital levels and operating ratios at our target levels. We are confident that even with this increase in our dividend, we will be able to continue growing capital levels despite the best growth rate in assets that we have seen in some time.”
