Dougherty County School Board Approves Tentative $209M Budget

The Dougherty County School board, at a rare meeting at Dougherty High School on Monday, unanimously passed a tentative $209 million FY 2016-17 budget for the school system.
“This is a budget we can live with. We will only have to take $864,885 out of the general fund to offset the revenue shortfall. And that’s not too bad,” DCSS Assistant Superintendent and CFO Ken Dyer said.
