Albany fight Against Blight Renews Hope

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 35 percent of the population in Albany lives below the poverty level.
And city officials acknowledge that part of the results of that statistic is echoed across the landscape of Albany, from downtown buildings that need to be revitalized to residential neighborhoods that are unlivable. Dilapidated structures, many say, are symptomatic of deeper issues like hopelessness and poverty as an institution.
