Lee County Commission Approves Local Preference Option

Area vendors will have a slightly easier path to winning projects in their home county now that the Lee County Board of Commissioners has approved a local preference option amendment to the county’s purchasing ordinances.
Commissioners made the move during Tuesday’s regularly scheduled commission meeting, voting unanimously to accept the amendment which allows the board to award contracts to Lee County-based vendors, as well as vendors located in neighboring counties, even if those bids are not the lowest bids.
