DIY Classes Announced at the Flint River Habitat ReStore

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Monday, May 2nd, 2016

Flint River Habitat for Humanity introduces the third in a string of Do It Yourself classes. These classes connect the mission of the organization with the purpose of the ReStore into a night of learning and fun.

It is time for another ReStore DIY Night, and there is no better opportunity than now to celebrate Mother’s Day! Bring your Mother or bring yourself! Make your Mother’s Day gift, make your wife a special gift she will love with the help of your children or allow your wife to come on her own (for a girl’s night without the kids!) Whatever you decide, the theme is MOMS and repurposing antique windows. The options are endless for Mom’s: chalkboard task lists, calendars, great wall art for your favorite sayings or have the kid’s help make it a great gift with their hands and feet.

Special note: Since some Moms will use this as a “special Mom’s night out”, kids are requested to not attend but complete their piece of the project for Mom, at home! We are happy to give you paint to take home for little toes to complete at home!

The DIY Night will be held on Tuesday, May 3rd from 6-9pm at the Flint River Habitat for Humanity ReStore, located at 717 Pine Avenue in Albany. All profits go towards Flint River Habitat for Humanity’s mission of providing safe and affordable housing for families in Lee and Dougherty counties.

You must register in advance and can do so online at www.flintriverhabitat.org. Once on the website, you can click on the flyer on the front page or find registration information under the ReStore tab. You may also pay in advance at the ReStore. The cost is $30 per person.
