Tuesday, April 12th, 2016

In a year that saw an all-time high number of students apply to the University of Georgia for admission, twenty seniors from Deerfield-Windsor School earned admission.

DWS College Counselor Dee Dee Willcox commented, “UGA received 23,000 applications this year and accepted only 53 percent. We are delighted to have had 83 percent of our applicants offered admission.  This is a strong class, and we are proud of our students.  This is a validation of their hard work and our faculty’s quality instruction.”

The average SAT score for accepted students was 1343 on the 1600-point scale and the average ACT score was 30 (of 36).  Accepted students averaged 8 Advanced Placement courses on their transcripts.

Deerfield-Windsor Headmaster Dave Davies noted, “Seventeen of our twenty accepted students began their DWS careers at our Lower School campus.  This is evidence of the benefit of beginning our college preparatory curriculum at the earliest grades.”
