The Georgia Southwestern State University School of Business Administration was recently notified that it’s bachelor’s degree in human resource management now fully aligns with the Society for Human Resource Management HR curriculum guides established in 2005.
“This recognition by SHRM is something that our faculty has been working toward for nearly two years, and Dr. Mark Grimes completed the process this fall,” said Liz Wilson, Ph.D., dean of the GSW School of Business. “The recognition is one more piece in GSW’s School of Business efforts to be recognized as a premier business school that turns out job-ready graduates.
“SHRM is the national association for human resource professionals, and alignment with their programming guidelines shows that GSW’s curriculum is in tune with the human resource management profession,” Wilson added. “We offer one of the few AACSB-accredited/SHRM-aligned HR degrees in the nation that can be completed either on campus or online.”
The SHRM HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates were derived from and identified using quantitative and qualitative research methodology. The purpose is to provide colleges and universities with a resource for tracking HR curricula against a common, minimum skill set needed by employers who seek to fill HR professional positions.
