The Lee County Youth Council, under the sponsorship of Lee County Family Connection, will host the 3rd annual “Trojans Got Talent” show in The LCHS Robert A. Clay Auditorium on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Advance tickets are available for $5.00.   Tickets will be sold in advance in the LCHS front office, 9th Grade Campus Front Office and the Lee County Chamber of Commerce during regular office hours prior to the event.  Admission at the door will be $7.00. The box office will open one hour before the show begins.

WALB’s Karla Heath Sands will be the Mistress of Ceremonies. Making a special appearance will be Florida State University’s only all-male a capella group REVERB.

A broad variety of eighteen acts will compete for six separate awards; 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, People’s Choice Award, Best Non-Musical Act, and the Kiwanis Award.  The Kiwanis Award winner will represent Lee County at the Georgia District Kiwanis Talent Show on April 30, 2016; competing for up to $5,000 in college scholarships.

All money raised through participation fees, box office, concessions, 50/50 raffle, and people’s choice award will benefit the Leesburg United Methodist Church Whiz Kids Tutoring Program, the Lee County Buddy Bench Project, and The Lee County Youth Council Scholarship Fund.

The Lee County Youth Council is a servant-leadership organization for students currently enrolled in Lee County Schools in grades 9 – 12. Students focus on addressing issues faced by today’s youth and serve as peer leaders.   The Youth Council primarily focuses on issues surrounding teen use/abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs through action projects and awareness campaigns. They also serve as volunteers for many community events.
