Staff Report From Albany CEO

Thursday, January 14th, 2016

The Admissions Office and Alumni Affairs at Georgia Southwestern State University are hosting “An Evening with the President” Thursday, Jan. 14 at the Albany Museum of Art. The event begins at 6 p.m., and high school juniors and seniors, other future students and Georgia Southwestern alumni are encouraged to attend the event.

This event coincides with the exhibit, “Ralph Harvey Retrospective: A History of Studio Glass in the Rural South.” Harvey is a professor emeritus at Georgia Southwestern, and he started the glass blowing program. Today, GSW’s art degree in glass blowing remains the only of its kind in Georgia.

At the reception, alumni, future students and their family will learn about Georgia Southwestern programs and opportunities featuring representatives from the Office of Admissions, faculty members from the Music, Visual Arts, and Theater, Communications, & Media Arts departments, and GSW Interim President Charles Patterson.
