Georgia Transportation Officials Conduct Final Inspection of Liberty Expressway Interchange
Thursday, January 14th, 2016
The Georgia Department of Transportation conducted its final inspection of the Liberty Expressway/Jefferson Street interchange Monday, closing out a two-year construction project that is expected to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for drivers in Dougherty and Lee counties.
The contractor, Oxford Construction Co., finished work Dec. 23, ahead of the scheduled completion date of Dec. 31. State and local GDOT representatives and the project engineer walked and rode the entire project, checking everything from the placement of raised pavement markers to the smoothness of the road surfaces.
