City Commissioner B.J. Fletcher Plans Aid for ‘Legitimately Needy’
Monday, December 7th, 2015
Albany City Commissioner/businesswoman B.J. Fletcher has long been known for her charitable work, but even the seen-it-all Fletcher admits to being “humbled” by the inspiration for her latest helping-hands plan.
“I don’t want anyone to think this is about me, but my employees (at BJ’s Country Buffet) came to me and said, ‘We see how you try to help others, so we want to do something this year during the holidays,’” Fletcher said. “What they’ve come up with is an idea to adopt a family and do things for them secretly. Like they want to decorate a Christmas tree and leave it on the family’s porch, and to drop off gifts for the family.
