Chehaw’s Doug Porter to Retire

After more than a decade at the helm of one of the Albany area’s most beloved attractions, Chehaw Park’s Doug Porter announced he will retire at the end of the year and will be succeeded as executive director by current Park Operations Manager Don Meeks
“After more than 11 years as executive director I have decided it is time for me to retire,” said Porter in an email to The Albany Herald. “I have been proud to direct the operation of our community’s premier public park and nature preserve that includes one of Georgia’s two accredited zoos.”
