Monday, November 2nd, 2015

Georgia Presenters, a statewide booking consortium, is proud to announce Heather Stanley, Rylander Theatre Managing Director, as new chairwoman. Stanley has been a member of Georgia Presenters since 2009.

Georgia Presenters provides a vehicle for collective programming where presenters, theaters, and communities can work together to increase cultural opportunities in their own communities and statewide. Since inception in 2008, the program has made more than 100 events possible in 53 venues across the state by negotiating discounted booking fees and providing grant funds to help underwrite costs, keeping historic theaters in high demand for performers throughout Georgia.

“The works of Georgia Presenters and the Fox Theatre Institute have been integral to the success of the Rylander Theatre and to so many other communities across the state. Bringing world class performers to smaller towns and making those performances accessible to everyone really resonates with me both personally and professionally. Whether it is the programming work we do or the professional development opportunities offered by Georgia Presenters, I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. I was very fortunate to be introduced to the group 6 years ago when I became Managing Director at the Rylander. The people who make up the membership of Georgia Presenters have become more than just professional colleagues, they are friends and it’s always exciting to see new faces around the table. I’m honored to serve such a wonderful group in a leadership role.”

Stanley brings more than 25 years of theatre experience to Georgia Presenters. Additionally, her professional background includes stage management, props mastery, cofounding a New Playwright festival, production work in music and film, and serving on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Theatre Conference and the Georgia Arts Network.  In her new volunteer role, Stanley will provide leadership for Georgia Presenters, working closely with Fox Theatre staff.
