Albany Museum of Art Displays Georgia Artist Guild of Albany’s Juried Art Show
Thursday, November 12th, 2015
The Albany Museum of Art is proud to display the Georgia Artist Guild of Albany’s Juried Art Show from November 5 through November 30, 2015. The opening reception will be at the AMA on November 5 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM and it is free and open to public.
This show features 30 pieces from 15 Albany area artists that range from watercolor, photography, oils and sculptures. It will be on display in the AMA’s Learning Curve, an area for community artwork to be made available to the public.
“This is a great outlet for local and area artists to be able to display their work and talent while being able to share it with the Southwest Georgia community,” said Bob Parker, GAGA’s exhibit chair. “Art enriches all of us. It’s a positive force for Georgia.”
Having the artwork on display at the AMA allows the museum and GAGA to work together for the common goal of enriching the local community while strengthening the relationship between the two organizations. “It is important that the museum support local artists and provide a deeper connection with people who create art and the people who exhibit art,” said Paula Williams, Executive Director of the AMA. “By engaging our local artists we hope to contribute to the artists’ practice while encouraging their involvement with the museum and the opportunities that we offer through our programs, exhibitions and membership.”
All pieces that will be on display will be for sale by the artist. If someone is interested in purchasing a piece, they should contact GAGA’s president, Meg Anderson, at (229) 623-5545.
