Phoebe’s 2015 Women’s Health Conference will take place this Saturday, October 24 at HealthWorks from 8 a.m.to 1p.m. This year’s theme, You’ve Got the Power!, is about educating women on all the simple things that one can do to ensure many quality years ahead. The event, which is open to the public, features free health screenings, information booths, door prizes, free breakfast and lunch, entertainment, and physician-led workshops.
 
Special guest speakers for the event are Janice Hayes and Tina Long, of Greater Atlanta Voicemasters, who will share personal stories exposing the hidden dangers of smoking. Voicemasters is a support group for individuals who have undergone surgical removal of their larynx and use electronic devices for communication. Other presenters and topics include:

Blood pressure readings and cholesterol screenings will be ongoing from 8 a.m. to noon. HealthWorks is located at 311 Third Avenue, across the street from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
