Tidmore, Fountain Receive DWS Distinguished Alumni Awards

Deerfield-Windsor School recently recognized two graduates, Dr. William C. Tidmore Jr. ’82 and Heath Fountain ‘93.  Tidmore received the Distinguished Alumni Award and Fountain was presented the Outstanding Young Alumni Award.

Valedictorian from Deerfield-Windsor in 1982, Tidmore graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University and received his M.D. degree magna cum laude from Emory Medical School..  He completed his internship and residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and served as Assistant Chief of Service and Chief Resident before completing his fellowship in rheumatology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Tidmore is a rheumatologist in Valdosta, where he is on staff at South Georgia Medical Center.  Active in his community, Tidmore serves on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Valdosta, is a member of the Rotary Club, and is the immediate past Chairman of the board of trustees for Valwood School.  

Fountain is a 1993 graduate of Deerfield-Windsor School and a 1997 graduate of the University of Georgia.  An Albany native, he began his professional career in public accounting and then moved into banking at HeritageBank of the South.  Fountain currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and a Director of PlantersFIRST, a community bank serving Middle and South Georgia. 

A graduate of Leadership Albany and past-President of Generation Success, Fountain is a past board member and treasurer of the Anchorage.  He served as the inaugural president of the Deerfield-Windsor School Alumni Association, and currently serves as the President of Doublegate Country Club.
