Albany Utility Board Recommends $1.6M in Purchases
Thursday, October 8th, 2015
As an Albany Utility Board “surplus” of some $6.7 million has become a topic of discussion during candidates’ campaigns for the mayoral and Ward IV Albany City Commission seats, Mayor Dorothy Hubbard has stated that much of the money saved by cost-cutting measures during Fiscal Year 2015 was for items that the utility authority would eventually have to purchase.
Her point was illustrated at the board’s meeting Wednesday when commissioners voted to recommend that the Albany City Commission approve some $1.63 million in spending for equipment and supplies.
