Albany City Manager Sharon Subadan: SGRITA Has Borne Fruit
Wednesday, October 7th, 2015
Albany City Manager Sharon Subadan passed along a couple of items that she called “good news” at the Albany City Commission’s work meeting Tuesday morning, noting that the city’s partnership with the seven-county South Georgia Regional Information Technology Authority had “borne fruit” and that the city has sent out requests for proposals for development of the Albany Heights property located at 249 Pine Ave.
“The city of Albany has fulfilled all of the requirements of its agreement with SGRITA, and that group is in the process of onboarding real customers right now,” Subandan said of the effort to bring high-speed wireless Internet service to portions of Baker, Mitchell, Calhoun, Miller, Terrell, Early and Seminole counties. “A full-scale launch of the project is planned for Oct. 15.”
