Dougherty County Employees to Get Insurance Rates Cut

Dougherty County employees, who got their first cost-of-living pay increase in several years at the start of Fiscal Year 2016, got some more good financial news at the County Commission’s work meeting Monday.

Group health insurance plan consultant Spencer Allen, a senior vice president with Wells Fargo, recommended that the commission lower employee insurance rates by 10 percent after the county’s self-insured health plan “did a 180-degree turn” from the previous plan year.
