Dougherty County Commission Approves Ag Zoning Amendment
Tuesday, August 18th, 2015
Despite opponents’ warnings that commissioners will have “created a beast” with approval, the Dougherty County Commission voted 6-1 Monday at its business meeting to OK a text amendment to the county’s zoning ordinance that will allow certain agritourism and agribusiness uses on land zoned for Agriculture.
The ruling means a proposed microbrewery that Morgan III Properties wants to build on Ag-zoned land in southwest Dougherty County adjacent to plantation land in that region could conceivably be approved without a zoning change.
