The College Board has announced that sixteen 2015 Deerfield-Windsor School graduates and fourteen current seniors have earned AP Scholar designation based on their performances on the 2015 Advanced Placement examinations.  AP courses are college-level courses taught in high school, and students can earn college credit with acceptable scores on the nationally-standardized examinations.

Deerfield-Windsor Headmaster Dave Davies stated, “Thirty AP Scholars is our highest number ever, and we could not be prouder of our students.  Our rigorous curriculum, outstanding teachers, and hard-working, motivated students is a recipe for success.  This also contributes to our HOPE Scholarship retention rate among our graduates which is more than double the statewide success rate.

Deerfield-Windsor offers twelve different AP courses to high-achieving sophomores, juniors, and seniors. To be designated as an AP Scholar, a student must post passing scores on at least three AP exams.  Scholars with Honor must pass four exams and have a prescribed average score, and Scholars with Distinction pass at least five exams with an even higher average score.

AP Scholars included Helena Augenstein, Paul Brown, Virginia Cole, Lanier Freeman, Emma Goldsmith, Brenton Kelley, Anna Caroline McLendon, Arohi Patel, Mary McCain Potter, Emily Pursel, Taylor Richter, Charles Stern, Brooke Timmerman, Mattie Veilands, Christian Wallace, Matt Williams, and Teasie Williams.

AP Scholars with Honor included Joshua Grant, Hadden Kelley, and Mallory Sammons.

AP Scholars with Distinction are Neil Atawala, Will Calhoun, Margaret DuVall, Steven Feng, Emily Gay, Austin Graf, Jessica Guan, Katherine Jack, Abigail Simmons, and Harry Vildibill.
