The Georgia Club has been named one of “Top 50 Best Master-Planned Communities” in the U.S. by Where to Retire magazine. This is the fourth time the publication has selected the Athens-area golf and country club community for this honor.

In the publication’s special July/August edition, The Georgia Club was recognized for its classic architecture, proximity to Athens, Ga. and Atlanta, southern hospitality, and offering its members well-rounded, modern amenities.

Where to Retire’s list is the only one-of-its-kind that focuses on communities rather than locales and features first person testimonials by current residents,” said Georgia Club President and Broker Tom Valdes. “Being included on the list confirms our commitment to providing members with an unrivaled, active lifestyle and community experience.”

The magazine’s selection process included reviewing hundreds of communities across the country to determine exceptional master-planned living developments. This year, communities from 16 states were featured. The Georgia Club was one of only four from Georgia.

Located near the University of Georgia and a short drive from Atlanta, The Georgia Club is home to more than 300 families. Residents and members enjoy full access to club amenities, including an exclusive fitness center, award-winning, 27-hole golf course, clubhouse, restaurant, swim and tennis complex, and more.

Launched in 1992, Where to Retire is published six times each year. Every issue profiles top retirement towns, both undiscovered and well-known, and master-planned communities that cater to retirees. The July/August issue featuring The Georgia Club can be found on various newsstands, grocery stores and bookstores across America.
