EMC Engineering Services Announces Promotion of Christopher E. Brazell, PE, LSIT to Senior Principal Owner

EMC Engineering Services, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Christopher E. Brazell, PE, LSIT to Senior Principal Owner.  EMC Engineering Services, Inc. is a consulting engineering firm headquartered in Savannah, Georgia with production offices located in Brunswick, Statesboro, Augusta, Atlanta, Albany, Valdosta and Columbus. EMC offers a wide range of environmental, civil, marine, survey and construction management services to municipalities, governmental agencies, industries, commercial investors and developers in the Southeastern United States.

Christopher E. Brazell is originally from Vidalia, Georgia, home of the world-famous Vidalia Sweet Onion. In 1996, Chris received Associate of Science Degrees in Nuclear Engineering & Physics at Middle Georgia College, where he later served as an adjunct professor teaching land surveying courses from 2010 to 2013. He received his Bachelor of Science degree, 2001, and Master of Science degree, 2004, in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, both with Highest Honors Distinctions.

Chris  says  that  ever  since he took  his first engineering co-op  job  with  his  hometown company, McLendon Enterprises, Inc.,  he has been excited by the  field  of civil engineering and stated “I could never envision doing anything else”.  He began his career with EMC in 2002 as a Construction Inspector in the Construction Engineering Inspections Department in Savannah. In 2003, Chris relocated to Atlanta where he was instrumental in starting the firm’s Atlanta Branch Office as well as to obtain his Master’s Degree utilizing EMC’s Tuition Reimbursement Program.  In 2006, he once again relocated on behalf of the firm to take leadership of the Columbus Branch. Since then Chris has grown the regional staff and market share to become one of the leading business units at EMC. Additionally, in 2006, he became the firm’s youngest Associate Owner.  As Senior Vice President of the West Georgia Division, Chris manages EMC’s Albany, Atlanta, Columbus, and Valdosta Branch Offices as well as being the liaison for all military projects. Chris is a Licensed Professional Engineer in eleven different states and is a Licensed Land Surveyor in Training in Georgia where he is in the process of obtaining dual registration. In 2011, he also became the firm’s youngest Principal Owner. Chris is a member of the EMC Engineering Services Board of Directors & Executive Council. In 2014, Chris became the firm’s liaison for the Human Resources Department to the Executive Council.

Chris was the recipient of the prestigious Young Engineer of the Year Award in 2010, presented by The Georgia Engineering Alliance. He is the President of the Columbus Georgia Tech Alumni Network, and a graduate of the 2009 class of Leadership Columbus and Leadership Harris County. Chris has a passion for community service as evident by being an active member in multiple organization to include North Columbus Rotary Club, Columbus Habitat for Humanity (Board Member), Young Professionals of Greater Columbus, Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Harris County Chamber of Commerce, Columbus Chapter of Ducks Unlimited (Committee Member), Georgia Society of Professional Engineers, Institute of Transportation Engineers, Society of American Military Engineers, and the Columbus Chapter of the Society of Human Resources.
