The Dougherty County School System is slowly preparing for the move to a state-mandated charter school system for the 2016-17 school year, and Superintendent Butch Mosely said his staff is compiling application materials to submit to the school board sometime this month.
The board will hold two public hearings in August and September before voting on the package which has to be submitted to the Georgia Department of Education by Nov. 1.
