Friday, June 5th, 2015
Grab your dancing shoes and come down to the train station for a step back in time for Thronateeska’s Summer Swing Out on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
For the couples that need a place for their kids while they learn to swing, drop them off at the Science Museum Lock-In! This includes one planetarium show and 30 minutes in the Science Museum for a total of one hour of science fun.
The cost is $5+ tax per child.
Dance Instructor Michelle Oaks, with over 20 years of experience in competitions and with teaching ballroom dances, will teach couples about the history of swing dancing and then some basic moves.
“I’d really like to show folks how much fun partner dancing can be,” said Oaks. “And it’s also really good exercise.”
This event gives couples of all ages the chance to engage with an interactive history lesson that everyone can enjoy. The cost is $10+ tax for non-member couples and $5+ tax for member couples.
Prior registration is required. Call Programs Manager Alex La Pierre at (229) 432-6955 or email [email protected] to register.
