Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital recently recognized two employees whose efforts went above and beyond the call of duty.  Kerri Ewing was awarded the PRIDE award and Missy Oosterveen, RN, was awarded the DAISY award.  The goal of these awards is to recognize excellence in the workplace by both nurses and non-nursing employees.

Kerri, the Phoebe PRIDE winner, works in the Carlton Breast Health Center.  Kerri went the extra mile to ensure that a patient was not left alone while waiting for a ride after a long day at the center. According to the nomination letter, Kerri showed kindness, compassion, and concern as she waited with her patient until late that evening when a family member could pick the patient up.

Phoebe PRIDE stands for Person Responding In Dedicated Excellence and recognizes excellence in the workplace by non-nursing employees. 

The DAISY award winner, Missy, works at the Phoebe Cancer Center and always gives 110 percent when it comes to treating her patients. As one patient stated, “Missy is a perfect example of an extraordinary nurse.” 

The DAISY Award, which is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System, is a nationwide program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. The Phoebe Putney Health System is proud to be a DAISY Award hospital partner.
