Ken Dyer Recommends $124 Million School System Budget for 2015-16

Dougherty County School System Associate Superintendent and Chief Business Officer Ken Dyer presented the DCSS School Board’s Finance Committee Monday with a tentative 2015-16 operating budget which anticipates nearly $124 million in expenditures for the upcoming school year.

One of the highlights of the proposed budget include the elimination of the final two furlough days for teachers. When the recession began in 2008 the DCSS furloughed teachers for 10 days and have slowly whittled down that number throughout the years. In addition, the draft also includes two percent raises for all eligible staff.
