HeritageBank of the South Announces College Scholarship Winners

HeritageBank is excited to announce the award of a total of thirteen scholarships valued at $17,000 across the Bank’s service areas. Six scholarships valued at $1,000 each were awarded to students, one for each region in which the Bank has a presence. HeritageBank also allotted three scholarships valued at $1,000 each for team member dependents. In addition to these, four scholarships valued at $2,000 each were given to HBOS team members. The scholarship was open to high school seniors, as well as full-time students already attending an accredited college or university. Winners were selected based on academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, community involvement and an essay question.
“This is a great opportunity to hear about the achievements and ambitions of the impressive young adults in each of our communities. It serves as a reminder that there is great hope carried by this next generation to meet the challenges facing them every day. Their energy, creativity and community participation will make a significant difference,” Lance Whitley, Director of Human Resources.
Nine contestant winners were selected by judges throughout our service regions. Candace Emree Shirley was awarded the scholarship for the Central & Southwest GA region, Jordan Howard Rowe received the scholarship for the Southern region, Christopher Michael Benson received the scholarship for the East GA region, Angelic Ivanna Agee was awarded the scholarship in our Alabama and West GA region, Emily Nicole Tripp was the winner for our Southeast GA region and Joseph Thomas Clark received the scholarship for our North GA & Colorado region. The team member dependent winners include: John Lee Sammons in Statesboro, Raegan Allison Shaw in Jackson and Courtney Boggs in Ocala, Florida. Team member winners include: Garret Philip Denninghoff, Garrett Robert Darsey, Heather Tison-Nichols and Sakeitha Thomas.
