Dougherty County School Board Gives Tentative OK to $124M Budget

The Dougherty County School Board has approved a tentative 2015-16 operating budget which calls for nearly $124 million in spending for the upcoming school year.

The proposed budget include the elimination of the final two furlough days for the district’s teachers. When the recession began in 2008 the DCSS furloughed teachers for 10 days and have slowly pared down that number throughout the years. In addition, the draft also includes two percent raises for all eligible staff.
