Albany Utility Board Gets Upbeat Financial Report

With one more month of figures to tally before the end of Fiscal Year 2015, the Albany Utility Board’s finances appear to be on solid ground, according to city of Albany Finance Director Derrick Brown.
In a brief financial report before the Utility Board Thursday morning, Brown noted that most of the seven enterprise funds controlled by the board were performing at or above expectations at the end of May. And the city’s chief financial officer said much of the clarity in his report was thanks to city officials’ decision to break each utility element into a separate enterprise fund.
