Transportation Director David Hamilton to Maintain Albany Transit, Airport Posts

Rather than hire managers to oversee operations of the city’s Transit Authority and the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport, newly named Transportation Director David Hamilton will manage both, Hamilton told the Albany-Dougherty Aviation Commission at its monthly meeting Monday evening.
Hamilton’s announcement was opposed by Aviation Board Chairman Dr. William Mayher.
“My objection is I believe we need a full-time manager at the airport,” Mayher said. “This has nothing to do (with Hamilton), I believe he can handle the job. But I’d like for him to be at the airport all the time. I think we need a dedicated person here.”
