Dougherty County Commission OKs Employee Clinic

Despite District 2 Commissioner John Hayes’ expressed concern that Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital had not been given enough opportunity to consider providing an on-site health care clinic for county employees, the Dougherty County Commission voted 6-0 Monday to approve a three-year agreement with CareHere Management to set up and manage such a clinic on South Jackson street.
Despite assurances at last week’s work session that Phoebe had passed on an opportunity to provide the services, Hayes said at the commission’s Monday business meeting that he wasn’t convinced Phoebe had been given “adequate opportunity” to consider the clinic.
