Former personal aide to President Barack Obama and author, Reggie Love, will visit Darton State College’s campus for a special lecture and book signing on Wednesday, April 8 from 6 – 7 p.m. in the Student Center, room C-266. The event is free and open to the public.
Love began working in the mailroom for the then-Senator Obama in 2007. After Obama won the 2008 election, he chose Love to be his personal aide. Love traveled millions of miles with the President and worked many 18-hour days. Best known for his role as President Obama’s special assistant, Love recently wrote about those experiences in a memoir, “ owed Forward: My Presidential Education." In the book, he shares universal insights on how life can define who you are, what you believe in, and what it takes to make a difference.
At the end of 2011, Love left his position to complete his Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Love graduated from Duke University in 2004 with a degree in political science and public policy.
This event is sponsored by the Office of Cultural Affairs, the African American Male Initiative, and the Office of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement. For more information regarding the special lecture, please contact Wendy Wilson at (229) 317-6925.
