Open Roads Defines Restaurateur B.J. Fletcher Professionally

B.J. Fletcher’s been a city commissioner for only a couple of years. She’s worked in the food service industry most of her adult life.
And while Fletcher claims her service as part of the city government is a vital part of her life now, it’s her new Open Roads Smokehouse restaurant that defines her professionally.
“This is what I love, watching those plates go out and come back empty,” Fletcher said during a rare quiet moment at the 1111 Dawson Road restaurant that she opened in January. “It took us a little while to get there, but we’ve got a very good team and a good-looking menu. Finally, this place is me. If we succeed, it will be because of this team. But if we fail, it’s all on me.”
