Rep. Ed Rynders to Chair State House Governmental Affairs Committee

The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Rep. Ed Rynders (R-Leesburg) as the Chairman of the House Governmental Affairs Committee.

Rynders will also serve as the Secretary of the Health & Human Services, Appropriations, and Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment Committees, as well as Ex-Officio of the Ways and Means Committee. In addition, Rep. Rynders is a member of the Intragovernmental Coordination and Transportation committees.

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

“I appreciate the confidence Speaker Ralston and the Committee on Assignments has shown in me,” said Rynders. “I look forward to helping make Georgia even stronger through good public policy.”

The House Governmental Affairs Committee oversees legislation concerning the operations and management of state, county, and municipal government. It also has jurisdiction over state election law.
