Reedi Hawkins Joins Team at Albany-Dougherty EDC

The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission has announced that Reedi Hawkins has joined the agency as its director of marketing and research. Hawkins’ first day was January 2, 2015.
“The Albany-Dougherty EDC is a dynamic, forward-‐thinking agency. It was important to find someone with the right skill set who brings new ideas to the table, and Reedi is that person,” said Justin Strickland, CEcD, president of the Albany-‐Dougherty Economic Development Commission. “Reedi’s passion for this community and her digital media background will push us to tell the Albany story in new and innovative ways that resonate with industries and individuals.”
Hawkins, an Albany native, graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, where she earned a degree in multimedia communication. Hawkins’ experience includes news reporting and production, research and Web design, among other strengths important to the role at the Albany-‐Dougherty EDC. “
My communications training is focused on conveying a message in the most effective and efficient way possible, and that’s exactly what is being asked of me in this position,” Hawkins said. “I’m thrilled to use my skills to benefit Albany-‐Dougherty County.”
Hawkins’ primary responsibilities will include development of a new multi-‐platform marketing strategy for the ADEDC; management of the award-‐winning “There’s Only One Albany” marketing and branding campaign; and coordination of market research.
