Tuesday, January 6th, 2015

Kenneth B. Hodges, III, the former Dougherty County District Attorney and 2010 Democratic candidate for Attorney General, is joining Albany, Georgia based lawyers Patrick Flynn, Charlie Peeler and Paul Phillips (Flynn + Peeler + Phillips, LLC) as an of-counsel attorney, opening their new Atlanta office near Buckhead.

Charlie Peeler says "Ken's extensive and proven trial practice skills, his strong ties to Southwest Georgia, and his state wide reputation make him a perfect fit for our growing practice and will only be a benefit for our clients as we continue to develop the very best trial team in the state."

Hodges says, "The timing is perfect. I have pending cases in Southwest Georgia, and several others in the pipeline, and I have come to realize that it makes sense for me to have a more visible presence in that part of the state. I have also developed a statewide practice, and can't leave what is working here in Atlanta. This is a perfect solution and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to join three very talented, accomplished attorneys who are, more importantly, friends."Ken Hodges is formerly a shareholder with Polsinelli, the nation's fastest growing law firm over the past six years."

Hodges says, "I am leaving a superior national firm. Russ Welch, the CEO of Polsinelli, is a class act and has lead the creation of a great national law firm. And there is no one better than my practice manager, Ed Novak. I can't say enough good things about working with them, and I will miss their leadership. I will miss working with my Atlanta partner, William Hill. He is a brilliant attorney and we have had a lot of fun trying cases together over the last four years. I hope we can team up again in the future.”

Hodges says, "I am a Georgia lawyer, and working in a smaller, Georgia-based firm where I have more autonomy, that is simply unavailable in any national firm, is a better fit.”Ken has tried and won hundreds of cases during the course of his 25-year career, and has represented clients in several high profile trials. Ken was most recently named a 2014 “Legal Elite” by Georgia Trend Magazine, a 2014 "Super Lawyer", a designation earned by less than 5% of lawyers, and is rated "AV", the highest rating given by Martindale Hubble, the preeminent legal ranking system in the nation.

Ken has been widely recognized for his legal and civic accomplishments, and was the 2013recipient of the State Bar's "Commitment to Equality" Award. He is a former chairman of the Prosecuting Attorney's Council of Georgia, has been named District Attorney of the Year, he has received the Justice Benham Award for Community Service from the State Bar and the Eagle Award for his work on behalf of victims by the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.

Ken currently serves on the executive committee for the State Bar of Georgia and its Board of Governors, he is Secretary and Board member for the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, and serves on Boards for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the State Botanical Garden in Athens, Georgia. He is a former Trustee of Leadership Georgia and was named to "40 under 40" by Georgia Trend Magazine.
