Join the King Day Celebration Committee for the annual King Day Celebration at the James H. Gray Civic Center on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 5:30 PM. The King Day Celebration Committee, through the annual King Day Celebration, raises money to benefit the Albany Civil Rights Institute (ACRI).

The King Day Celebration Committee is a dedicated cadre of committed leaders who share a common vision of recognizing the efforts of the late civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The King Day Celebration continues to be one of the most diverse and well attended events in Albany, GA as hundreds of individuals, organizations and business support annually to keep the dream of Dr. King alive in Albany, GA. Each year at the King Day Celebration, two adults and one youth are recognized for embodying the characteristics of Dr. King and for their servant leadership to mankind in the local Albany, GA community through the prestigious Dream Awards.  Nominations for adults and youth for the 2015 Dream Awards will be accepted from October 7 until December 31, 2014.

This year, the King Day Celebration Committee is pleased to announce that the keynote speaker selected for the 2015 King Day Celebration is newly appointed federal court judge of the Middle District of Georgia, the honorableJudge Leslie Joyce Abrams.

The 2014 King Day Celebration event will take place on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 5:30 PM at the James H. Gray Civic Center, 100 W. Oglethorpe Blvd, Albany, GA.
