Albany State University will recognize 50 exceptional young leaders and alumni under the age of 50. A special banquet will be held in their honor at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 in the Student Center Ballroom located on the campus.

Now in its second year, the 50 Under 50 celebration honors the rising stars in ASU’s alumni family, who lead with excellence and serve as passionate, loyal and committed Golden Rams. The keynote speaker for the event is Dr. C.W. Grant, former ASU vice president of Student Affairs. 

Profiles of the honorees who are excelling in career fields such as law, education,  engineering, and journalismare featured in the recently released 2014 “50 Under 50” publication. 

Other speakers for the evening include Dr. Linda Gail Solomon, a 1989 graduate and Vincent Jones, a 1994 graduate.

“Our 50 Under 50 honorees are exceptional examples of leaders who have helped make ASU a premier institution of higher learning,” said Sue Polite-Solomon, interim director of alumni affairs. “This event will help to inspire current and future Golden Rams to be active community members and involved alumni.”
