Albany State University College of Business administrators and faculty are celebrating good news. Accreditation for the program was recently reaffirmed by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.

“Students graduating with such accreditation are viewed by employers as having undergone a rigorous, academically sound program, one that demonstrates adherence to high standards of excellence,” said Dr. Michael Rogers, ASU interim Dean of the ASU College of Business. "I want to express my sincere appreciation to the entire faculty and staff of ASU's College of Business as they have done an outstanding job in preparing our self-study report and working with the ACBSP on-site review committee.”

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs accredit business, accounting, and business-related programs at the associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degree levels worldwide. The association specializes in working with institutions that emphasize teaching and learning.

The visiting team from the accreditation board noted the “extraordinary efforts” of participants in the accreditation process and was impressed with the college’s new advisory board made up of over forty business executives from the region.

“Everyone significantly contributed to this successful ‘reaffirmation of accreditation’ effort,” said Vice President for Enterprise Sales, UPS, and Chair of the COB’s advisory board, Mike Turner. “The advisory board is thrilled to be a part of this process and looks forward to many more successes as we collaboratively drive the 'students first' theme of the College of Business.”
