Albany State University College of Business students Kierra Pace, Brittiany Green, Lakea Chatmon and Jasmine Andrew, will participate in the Georgia State University Center for International Business Education and Research Case Challenge Competition scheduled for Mar. 26-27, 2015. The team will spar against seven other teams in the two-day, intensive competition. 

On the first day of the competition, the students are provided with the opportunity to network with their peers.  Later that day, they will receive an international business case, allotted time to research their case and deliver findings that evening.  The next morning, senior executives and faculty serve to judge each team’s presentation.

According to the GSU CIBER website, “the consortium leads the formation of a collaborative higher education community composed of two-year, four-year, and historically black colleges and universities in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.”  

During the months of January and February the team will begin practicing and analyzing business cases in preparation for the upcoming competition.

“Involvement in this competition is an excellent way to help our business students understand the important role of international business,” said ASU Professor of Information Systems and consortium faculty representative, Dr. Kathaleena Edward Monds. “In fact, our hope is that they will be so excited that they will join one of the many study abroad initiatives established by the university and college.”
