The University System of Georgia (USG) is a proud participant in International Fraud Awareness Week, November 16 – 22. In support of this effort, Albany State University is planning a series of activities to bring awareness to fraud, and further promote a more ethical culture on campus.  

A panel discussion will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. in the Billy C. Black Auditorium. Presenters are representatives from ASU’s Office of Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Student Government Association, Business Services, Internal Audits and the Police Department.  

“No organization is exempt from the potential for fraud and the resulting risk to an institution’s reputation and its employees. We will present activities that equip ASU employees with sufficient information to fight fraud, waste and abuse” said ASU Director of Internal Audits Katherine Laster.

ASU will join other state universities for the weeklong campaign entitled “The SPIRITofUSG.” All events are planned to emphasize: Stewardship, Prevention, Integrity, Responsibility, Inspiration, and Trust.

The initiative is part of a comprehensive Ethics and Compliance Program which includes ethics training, mandatory compliance training, assurance audits, consulting engagements and an ethics and compliance reporting hotline.
