Phoebe Names Dr. Steve Kitchen Chief Medical Officer

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital announced on Wednesday that Dr. Steve Kitchen will be assuming the role of chief medical officer in September.
The role had be filled up until recently by Dr. Doug Patten, who for the last several weeks has been serving as the interim CEO at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Next week, he takes a position at the Georgia Hospital Association. Dr. Frank Middleton has been in the role of interim chief medical officer.
In his new position, Kitchen said he would continue the efforts of his predecessors by working on initiatives for improvement of quality of care and patient safety.
