Civil Air Patrol Conducts Encampment in Albany
Monday, June 23rd, 2014
For the third year in a row, the young cadets of Georgia Wing Civil Air Patrol, the civilian arm of the US Air Force, or the Air Force Auxiliary, made Albany home during their week-long encampment that ended on Saturday.
The encampment, hosted on the base of Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany, included 160 cadets from across the state ranging primarily in age from 12-18 years, with the maximum age limit of 21. Adults volunteer their time during the summer to help with the camp, which is similar to what a cadet might experience during actual basic training.
