Could HeritageBank be the Next Bank Name in Tampa Bay?

Heritage Financial Group Inc. is looking for deals in Florida, including the northern part of the Tampa Bay area.
Heritage, headquartered in Albany, Ga., is focused on an area that’s north of horizontal line drawn from Tampa to Orlando, O. Leonard Dorminey, CEO, told SNL Financial.
The company last week announced plans to buy Ocala-based Alarion Financial Services Inc. for $22.1 million, as reported by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Dorminey told SNL that Heritage also is looking for other transactions within its footprint in Birmingham, Ala.; Atlanta; Savannah, Ga.; and coastal Georgia.
