Waffle House on Ledo Road Part of Potential Area Economic Bonanza
Monday, December 2nd, 2013
Albany Real Estate Agent Mary Carter has just the cure for the seemingly unshakable “Lousy Economy Blues:” a big batch of promising economic news.
Carter, an agent with the Murray Webb & Associates firm, said she will close on a Waffle House restaurant that is to be located along Ledo Road near the new Prince Chevrolet leadership, reigniting a growth spurt that had somewhat stalled on that busy Lee/Dougherty County corridor. That closing will precede similar action on a previously announced downtown Waffle House by a couple of weeks.
“We’re still finalizing the deal (downtown),” Carter said. “It’s all part of some pretty big things that are going on in our community. Unfortunately, we don’t always get the good news. We tend to focus on the bad things happening. But I think this is part of some really exciting things that are going on here.”
Carter said many of the deals she’s working on are pending, but the widespread activity is an indication of increasing interest in economic development in the Albany area.
