Albany Advocacy Resource Center Announces Keynote Speaker for Annual Awards Banquet Today

Albany Advocacy Resource Center (Albany ARC) will celebrate its 35th Annual Community Awards Banquet Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Albany. This year's Banquet will feature Keynote Speaker, Mr. Greg Schmieg.
In June 2012, Greg Schmieg was chosen to serve as the executive director for the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency. Prior to his appointment by Governor Nathan Deal, Mr. Schmieg was executive director of the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation in Warm Springs for five years. His professional career consists of more than 30 years working in both rehabilitation and healthcare, and began as a Director of Rehabilitation for two non-profit organizations in Missouri and New Hampshire. He has also worked as CEO at hospitals in Texas, Wisconsin and Georgia. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, where he obtained both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in clinical psychology. He served with distinction as a U. S. Navy Petty Officer during the Vietnam conflict from 1968-72, where he received the Navy League Award.
Albany ARC's 35th Annual Award Banquet will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 101 S. Front Street, Albany, GA. The evening will start with a reception at 6:00 where guests will have the opportunity to meet the Keynote Speaker of the event followed by dinner at 7:00.
During the Banquet, Albany ARC Executive Director Susan Trueblood and Albany ARC Consultant, Annette Bowling will present awards to people we support for their successes, outstanding board members, and Albany ARC community partners.
