South Georgia Retailers Ready for Sales Tax Holiday

Georgia's sales tax holiday for back-to-school items starts at midnight Thursday. A lot of shoppers have their lists ready, and stores are hoping for big crowds.

Tax-free shopping on school supplies, clothes, and computer equipment will attract bigger than usual crowds to south Georgia stores this weekend. Employees at Target say they're ready.

"It still should remain somewhat manageable in here as far as traffic and we're not expecting lines to be wrapped around the building or anything like that," said Assistant Manager of Logistics Andrew Peterson. "It's typical to Black Friday, we just expect an increase in sales and a little bit increase in guest traffic and we will be staffed and ready to handle this weekend."
