Military Honored at Chamber Rise 'n' Shine Breakfast
Thursday, June 27th, 2013
Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany, a military installation known for its significant economic impact to Southwest Georgia, was the focal point of Wednesday's Albany Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast.
The chamber hosted its "Military Appreciation Rise 'n' Shine" breakfast at the Doublegate Country Club.
Kicking off the program was Cynthia George, chair of the chamber's board of directors, with some welcoming remarks. That was followed by a video presentation from WFXL-TV highlighting a series the station recently did on Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, where basic training is conducted for enlisted Marines.
Among a group of Marines there to represent the Albany military community was Col. Don Davis, commanding officer of MCLB-Albany.
