DOCO president and chief executive officer, Barry O. Heape, was presented with the Moses C. Davis Professional of the Year Award by the Georgia Credit Union Affiliates.

The prestigious award recognizes significant contemporary contributions to the credit union movement, which allow credit unions to grow and prosper in order to better serve their members. The award was announced in May at the Georgia Credit Union Affiliates annual awards banquet in Savannah, GA.

In addition to his duties as president and CEO of DOCO Credit Union, Heape serves as 2nd Vice Chairman of the Georgia Credit Union League board of directors. He serves on multiple Georgia Credit Union League committees and is an active participant of credit union advocacy initiatives.

The past 28 years of Heape’s career have been dedicated to credit unions, where he asserts, “It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of an industry that truly believes in and fosters cooperation and financial betterment of the individuals and communities we exist to serve.”
